Art Ecology in Contemporary Urbanism

This research focuses on the art ecology of Hong Kong by mapping out the different art amenities for production, storage and consumption of visual arts. The development and ownership history are studied to examine the rise of two specific hub, Pedder Building and Wong Chuk Hang artist village.

Pedder building is located in central financial district and act as the high end art curator and incubator for auctions and sales. It is an urban hinge among galleries in the prestigious art district. Whereas Wong Chuk Hang is an emerging cultural district featuring local artists and regional collaborators.
