Stigma 烙印
Installation Design | Lion Rock Cafe
Production @ 33rd Anniversary of June 4th
Date: 4 June, 2022 Washington Square Park, Manhattan, NY |
Stigma- a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person. Even though the slogan on HKU Swire bridge was washed away under the threat from Hong Kong National Security Law, the artifact has already been branded into our hearts.
This participatory work is a collaborative effort of June 4th vigil attendees in NYC on the 33rd Anniversary of the 1989 bloodshed. Each drop of wax symbolizes a shed of tear to the Massacre Martyrs, as the collective memorials solidified into the slogan of faith. The spirit and vision of dissidents shall pass on to the new generations, and be realized by our persistent and joint effort. |

Wandering Hong Kong
Art Exhibition/ Archive Date: 11-19 June, 2020 Sohotel, SoHo, Manhattan, NY |
The artwork archive project Wandering Hong Kong explores what it means to be
“wandering.” The dictionary defines it as “a life with no place to settle down, needing to move around.” It is never easy to settle in a new place, let alone the emotional turmoil, homesickness, separation from friends and family, confusion about belonging and identity, and many more other struggles. Nevertheless, our persistent love for Hong Kong represents this era and is worthy of being recorded and preserved. The love and struggle are why we titled the exhibition Wandering Hong Kong. |
